Why Should You Do Your Helicopter Flight Training in Duluth, MN?
If you're thinking of becoming a professional helicopter pilot but haven't decided where to land for your flight training, here are some items that might be helpful to consider when choosing a flight school.
Location
Location is an important consideration for a variety of reasons. Is the flight school city's cost of living affordable? Does the area's climate experience all four seasons? Will you find multiple terrains within the flight school's radius?
Lake Superior Helicopters' flight school is located in Duluth, Minnesota, a vibrant, yet affordable city with diverse terrain and weather to give you experience flying in all types of weather conditions. An added bonus is that at Lake Superior Helicopters you'll do your helicopter flight training over the stunning north shore of Lake Superior. The Duluth region is a thriving aviation hub which includes a number of aviation partners such as the Duluth International Airport, Cirrus Aircraft, Monaco Air, the Minnesota Air National Guard's 148th Fighter Wing, Lake Superior College Center for Advanced Aviation, FedEx, and more.
Program Length / Return on Investment
With Lake Superior Helicopters' accelerated 2-year program (offered in partnership with Lake Superior College), you’ll earn your professional pilot degree and be into your new career faster than the traditional 4-year college flight training route. To accomplish this, you achieve 200 flight hours (the same as a 4-year program) by flying twice as often with less waiting between lessons. You will begin your career and start earning a salary up to two years earlier than your 4-year program counterparts and the return on your investment starts sooner.
Equipment and Safety
At Lake Superior Helicopters you'll be trained with some of the most advanced and safe flight training equipment on the market, including our fleet of Robinson R44 helicopters and our Bell 206 Turbine Transition Helicopter. Learn more about the Robinson R44.
