Lake Superior Helicopters to Host Open House July 31
Lake Superior Helicopters will host a helicopter open house on Thursday, July 31, 3:00 - 6:00 p.m., at Duluth Sky Harbor Airport, 5000 Minnesota Ave. The event is free and open to the public. Anyone interested in becoming a professional helicopter pilot or just seeing helicopters up close and learning more about the aircraft are encouraged to attend. Helicopter tours will also be available for purchase as well. Several local youth groups have been invited to attend so that area kids can be introduced to the world of aviation and aviation related career paths. All are welcome, open to all ages.
Lake Superior Helicopters partners with Lake Superior College to offer a comprehensive, two-year professional helicopter pilot degree program for aspiring professional helicopter pilots. Anyone interested in learning more about the program, and related career opportunities, is encouraged to attend. Come check out the helicopters, meet our flight instructors, and talk directly with several successful alumni of the flight school who are now working for various industry partners who will be in attendance as well, including flying helicopters for North Memorial Health Air Care, Life Link III, and United States Customs and Border Protection's Air and Marine Operations (AMO). In addition to flight school training, Lake Superior Helicopters also offers sightseeing tours in and around Duluth. Lake Superior Helicopters continues to recruit more aspiring pilots into the professional pilot program, as the need for professional pilots continues to grow. The program is approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to accept Veteran benefits, including the GI Bill®. The program was also recently approved by the FAA as an Examining Authority, meaning certified flight instructors with the program will now be able to administer their own check rides which will make the program even more effective, efficient and affordable. Fall semester begins August 25. Prospective students interested in enrolling this fall are encouraged to begin the application process as soon as possible to allow time to complete the necessary steps required to be accepted.
