How We Are Different

• We are the only training facility north of the metro area which offers the Schweizer 300 which is undisputedly the safest training helicopter in the world.
• We will pay for the student's supplementary insurance covering the $20,000 deductible on the helicopter that the student would otherwise be responsible for.
• There are no penalties if you need to stop your training or cancel a flight for any reason.
• We do not require you to keep minimum balance in your account with us to receive our advertised student rate.
• As a student of LSH, for every rating a student you recruit acquires through us, you will receive an hour of free time in our Schweizer 300c.
• We will give you a realistic price of what your training will cost including all books, equipment, check rides, and medical evaluations which will be based on the national average.
• If during your training, our prices go up; your price will remain the same as what we quoted you.
• If you are unable to achieve your desired rating in the allotted number hours, we will give you the helicopter rental at cost until your goal is achieved.
• We are based out of a Class E airport (no control tower) but within 5 minutes of Class D airspace (with a control tower). This allows students to maximize their time training in a lower traffic environment not having to waste time waiting for clearance from the control tower. Yet the Class D airspace is close enough so the students do not waste time flying there to train working in at a tower controlled airport.

Training

• We meet with each of our new students and create a realistic personalized syllabus for each based on their goals, schedule, and budget.
• A full time dedicated student can achieve their Certified Flight Instructor-Instrument (CFII) in as little as nine months although the average is 12 months. That is from zero flight time to an employable helicopter pilot within 1 year!
• Our goal is to not just train you to be a pilot but to be an exceptional one.

Safety

• We seek to create a safe, efficient, and quality pilot training environment by using knowledgeable safety conscious pilots and the safest equipment available.
• The Schweizer 300 is undisputedly the safest piston helicopter in the world with its smooth and stable three blade rotor system which is extremely forgiving to students.
