Fall Colors Out of Beaver BayWe have great news for all you fans of beautiful leaves. To begin with we will now be offering tours out of Beaver Bay, MN located an hour northeast of Duluth on MN Highway 61. This location puts you in the heart of the Sawtooth Mountains enabling you to see such popular landmarks as Palisade Head and Splitrock Lighthouse. This location combined with a forecast calling for freeze/frost advisories makes this weekend prime time for seeing the splendor of the North Shore in full color. Call now @ (218) 213-7095 to reserve your fall colors flight this weekend out of Beaver Bay! Only $99 per seat! Fall Colors Are Coming! We at Lake Superior Helicopters would just like to keep everyone up to date on the leaf cycle. Here in the Duluth/Superior area the canopy is still dominated by green but the orange and reds are starting to become more prevalent. As you travel up the North Shore the trees bearing autumnal colors almost equal those which are still green. For a map showing the color changes visit: MNDNR Map of Fall Colors Starting this next weekend, October 3, 2009 we should have finalized paperwork enabling us to give tours out of another location approximately one hour northeast on Highway 61. This, combined with the cool weather predicted this week should make for excellent leaf viewing opportunities. Be sure to call (218) 213- 7095 starting this Tuesday to prebook your leaf viewing adventure with Lake Superior Helicopters. Sky Harbor ToursOver Labor Day weekend we kicked off our operation out of Sky Harbor Airport located at the end of Park Point with an outstanding success. We offer a 16 mile tour from the Sky Harbor Airport over the Duluth/Superior area getting you bird’s eye view some of the most popular landmarks including the Aerial Lift Bridge. Our standard tours are $45 per person with a maximum of three persons in each tour. Give us a call for our current hours at (218)213-7095. We hope to see you soon! Come See the Maple!September is here and we are starting to see the reds, oranges, and yellows peaking out amongst the green landscape. The view of the autumn leaves from a helicopter is unparallel by any other aircraft due to a combination of several things including the enormous viewing area and altitude at which they fly. Shoot us an email or give us a call and we will keep you up to date on the autumnal changes. Congratulations Lt. Tom Phingsten!Lake Superior Helicopters would like to congratulate 1st Lt. Tom Phingsten of the Minnesota Department of Natural Recourses on receiving his Commercial Rotorcraft License add-on. We tailor all of our training to our student’s goals and Lt. Phingsten was no different receiving his rating within three weeks. Although this accelerated training is not for everyone, there are those who do not have the time to work on a rating for several months making this a great option. | November 2011 (3) August 2011 (1) July 2011 (3) May 2011 (6) April 2011 (2) March 2011 (7) February 2011 (2) January 2011 (4) October 2010 (2) July 2010 (5) June 2010 (3) March 2010 (1) February 2010 (5) January 2010 (4) November 2009 (1) September 2009 (5) August 2009 (2) July 2009 (1) June 2009 (1) April 2009 (2) |
