Wow! It's June already!

I can hardly believe it is already June. So much has happened the last month, I have not had a chance to give you all any updates but today it's raining and I'm waiting for some paint to dry so here we go. We have moved into our new hanger located at 1419 North 46th Street Superior, Wisconsin. A better description would be the hanger located behind the Upper Deck Restaurant across from the Fairgrounds. We would have hoped to have been done with all the remodeling but you all have kept us in the helicopters giving us little free time to work on the hanger. Who are we kidding though, we would much rather be flying helicopters ;-)

The remodeling is close to being done. We finished painting the back wall next to our offices and are in the process of installing a cupboard and countertop under the stairway so we can finally have a permanent home for our microwave and coffee maker. Another exciting development was the acquisition of our two 12'x12' rolling platforms made by Mobile Repair and Fabrication out of Bemidji, MN. We would like to thank them for doing an excellent job even going so far as to have an engineer perform stress tests using a computer program. Now we can land and take off from the platforms never having to worry about ground handling wheels or pushing a helicopter in by hand. Just land on the platform, hook up the 4 wheeler, and you are set to go. If anyone is interested in purchasing a similar platform you can call Mobile Repair and Fabrication at (218) 766-7125. We highly recommend them.Speaking of things coming highly recommended, let's talk about the training we are doing in our Schweizer 300C. As we have told many of you, once you train in our Schweizer 300C you will be wondering why you haven't been training in it all along. The two biggest differences students who have previously trained in R22's notice when flying our 300 is its stability and power. We have yet to have someone who has not enjoyed the flying experience in our Schweizer 300C more then the R22. We encourage anyone who is thinking of training or who is currently in training to give us a call and schedule an intro flight for $99. We know you'll love it.

Moving right along here, our tours offered in the R44 have been starting to pick up as the weather improves. We should be offering rides and tours out of the Sky Harbor Airport at the end of Park Point on the weekends starting in the next couple of weeks. Just look for the signs. Finally, I have had several people asking about the pictures on the website being they are of a R22. These pictures were taken while we had our leased R22 and will be replaced soon with some pretty cool pictures of our new Schweizer 300C and our Robinson R44 Raven II. Well, the paint should be just about dry so until next time remember to keep the spinney side up,Your Friends at Lake Superior Helicopters
