FIREFIGHTING

From fighting the flames to transporting teams and equipment, helicopters have become essential in the world of firefighting. Helicopters will typically work on attacking the edges of the fire to prevent additional expansion. For smaller fires, helicopters can be used as the primary method to extinguish them. Other times they will be responsible for transporting necessary team members or equipment needed on location.

TOURISM

Working as an air tour pilot can be a common first position within the helicopter industry. Tour pilots need to be skilled in operating an aircraft as well as navigating conversation. As the work requires working directly with customers, it is important to have excellent communication skills. While many air tourism companies are located in popular tourism destinations, it can be a great career allowing you to connect with people while living in some of the most beautiful cities in the world.
